Enerfood Organic Green Superfood Powder by EnerHealth Botanicalsis an award-winning green superfood drink powder that boasts 100% organic ingredients, Non-GMO ingredients, Vegan and Kosher. It has an impressive array of ingredients and has been praised by well-known people and organizations in the alternative health world.
Enerfood is a one-dimensional superfood drink powder from the standpoint that it is almost exclusively superfoods. Many other green drink powder formulas contain other categories of nutrition such as protein, enzymes, probiotics, antioxidants and more.
The following EnerFood Organic Green Superfood Powder review will examine this product in depth and determine its’ overall quality and value.

ENERFOOD REVIEW – SUPERFOODS
EnerFood Organic Green Superfood Powder apparently contains a total of 20 different superfoods and herbs in the formula. The list is a good one that impressively balances the algae and sea vegetables, grasses and land vegetables.
The following is a total ingredient list of EnerFood:
Spirulina, Chlorella, Nutritional Yeast, Dulse, Kelp, Barley Grass, Wheat Grass, Alfalfa Leaf, Spinach, Rose Hips, Beet Root, Orange Peel, Winter Cherry Root, Asparagus Root, Dandelion Leaf, Lemon Peel, Papaya Leaf, Horsetail Barley Grass Juice Powder and Wheat Grass Juice Powder.
This is a great list of superfood ingredients that contain a broad spectrum of health benefits. It emphasizes the important superfoods for overall health and nutrient density, while also including herbs for cleansing and the promotion of natural energy.
The appearance of yeast in this product may raise some eyebrows and suffer some criticism. I happen to think that the yeast used is fine and is a great source of vitamins. It appears that it is used for the purpose of a filler, taking the place of another popular (and healthy) filler called Lecithin.
One major positive about this formula is that ALL the ingredients are 100% organic. This is difficult to accomplish these days to the stringency of the certified organic process. I think having everything 100% organic lends a lot of credibility to this product.
Each serving of EnerFood provides a total of 8 grams of nutrition (one tablespoon). Though 8 grams per serving is a decent amount of superfoods, it certainly is not a lot when compared to other superfood drinks reviewed on this site. This does not make this a poor choice by any means but it is important that you understand that this product is more of a “supplement” product as opposed to a meal replacement like the Total Living Drink Greens or Shakeology.
EnerFood is similar in format to Dr. Schulze’s SuperFood Plus powder for example. EnerFood also doesn’t include any probiotics, enzymes, protein and other antioxidants. More on this in the “Nutrition” section.
Lastly, EnerFood does not list the potency of each ingredient so there’s no way of knowing exactly how much of each ingredient is in the formula.
SUPERFOODS SCORE: 9.3
ENERFOOD REVIEW – NUTRITIONAL PANEL
Normally this section is dedicated to talking about the other aspects of a green drink product outside the superfoods section like probiotics, digestive enzymes, antioxidants and protein. Many high-end superfood green drinks will include these in addition to the superfoods to make the product more complete and cover more areas of nutrition. EnerFood Organic Green Superfood Powder is almost exclusively a superfood powder supplement. It does however contain some great herbs.
Rose Hips (fruit of the wild rose plant) are a great source of antioxidants, Ashwaghanda (Winter Cherry Root) is a terrific natural stress reliever, Horsetail is good for the teeth and nails and of course Dandelion Leaf, one of my favorite herbs, is a tremendous blood and liver cleanser. (The author occasionally enjoys some delicious wines and is always in favor of liver cleansing.)
It’s a little disappointing to see this product as being so one-dimensional. These days, almost all of the superfood green drinks I review contain at least some probiotics and digestive enzymes… like Athletic Greens or Green Vibrance who both have extraordinary probiotic panels.
NUTRITIONAL PANEL SCORE: 7.4
Taste is relative. I’m always surprised to find that certain people will find one green drink tasty while another will find it appalling.
EnerFood Organic Green Superfood Powder tastes exactly like what it is… algae, grasses, herbs and vegetables. It has an earthy, grassy, seafood taste that is a little stronger than other green drinks I’ve tried. Personally, I have no problem with it but “newbies” to these kinds of drinks certainly will. If it is a problem, try mixing it with quality, organic fruit juices or make it into a health smoothie, which by the way can be a terrific weight loss tool as a meal-replacement.
TASTE SCORE: 8.0
Let’s talk about the value of EnerFood Organic Green Superfood Powder. The way I arrive at a “value score” is by looking at the quality of ingredients and the potencies of the ingredients. I look at the amount of nutrition one gets per serving and then look at the cost per serving.
EnerFood has great ingredients that are 100% organic. The total serving size is 8 grams of nutrition. This is on the lower-end of total potency for a green drink powder. They use juice extracts for just two ingredients (Barley Grass and Wheat Grass).
The frustrating part about trying to ascertain total value is that we are clueless as to how much of each ingredient one is actually getting. They do not list the amount of each ingredient on their label or website. So how much alfalfa are you ingesting per serving? I don’t know. How much spinach? Wheat Grass? Couldn’t tell you. Though irritating, it’s common practice by green drink manufacturers. (Green Vibrance is one of the few that lists the amount of every ingredient.)
The bottom line here is that you are getting a pretty decent amount of quality, organic ingredients in mediocre potencies. You’re not getting anything else in terms of probiotics, enzymes and protein making EnerFood very one-dimensional.
At $47 per 50 servings, you’re paying around around a dollar per serving. This is a fair price for what you are getting. Organic bulk ingredients are significantly more expensive than non-organic. Overall, I think Enerfood is priced correctly.
VALUE SCORE: 8.9
PROS & CONS
- 20 exceptional ingredients
- 100% organic showcases the commitment to a quality product
- Well-rounded superfoods with a good balance of algae, grasses and vegetables
- One-dimensional product that has excluded probiotics, digestive enzymes, protein, etc.
- Does not list the potencies of each ingredient
EnerFood Organic Green Superfood Powder is a good product with a lot going for it. I love the 100% certified organic ingredients and other certifications. I’m impressed with the variety and balance of the superfoods. I like the choice of add-on herbs like Dandelion Leaf and Rose Hips. This is a great green powder “supplement”.
It’s only 8 grams per serving, which is on the lower-end of nutrition-per-serving compared to other green drinks reviewed on this site. This doesn’t make it a bad product; it just makes it a little more one-dimensional. It is definitely not a meal replacement and you will need to take a separate probiotic product, a separate enzyme product, a separate protein supplement, etc. But at less than $1.00 per serving, it is priced fairly for what you are getting in terms of nutrition.
